Evening Grosbeak Driftwood, Texas 11 Jan 1986 Evening Grosbeak is a very rare winter visitor to central Texas. In 1986 I operated a banding station in Driftwood. We had a flock of about 25 Evening Grosbeaks that were in the area for several days and we managed to catch several of them in mist nets. The birds were banded, photographed and released.
