Description:
Common on walls, fences, palm trees and posts about the area. As many as twenty individuals could be counted clinging on the walls of Uncle Bills Restaurant/Bar. At night, they were common about porch lights and illuminated signs. When comparing the number of Mourning and House Geckos seen in Hilo and other areas of Hawaii's Big Island, noticeably fewer were seen at locations inhabited by day geckos. Only three House Geckos and one Mourning Gecko (hatchling) were detected.
