Description:
Endemic to Big Island and endangered. Part of the Hawaiian Lobeliads, a group of 125 species and several genera which evolved from a single colonization 13 million years ago (Givnish, et al, Proc. Biol. Sci., 2009, Feb. 7, 276(1656): 407-416). Elevation of this plant was around 4700ft/1434m. Younger leaves were more muricate than older leaves (same for branches). It is likely that all of the many C. stictophylla plants I observed were outplanted.
