The Whitehead (Mohoua albicilla) or Ppokotea is a small species ( 15 cm in length, 18.5/14.5 g. of passerine bird endemic to New Zealand. It is currently classified in the family Pachycephalidae and thus regarded as a relative of the whistlers in Australia and the unusual Pitohui, a genus of poisonous birds from New Guinea. Zealandia, formerly known as the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary, is a protected natural area in Wellington, New Zealand, where the biodiversity of 225 ha of forest is being restored.
