Description:
this is an older pic of Persian Fritillary, a protyected species in Israel. It is found frequently in green flowers in the northern part of the country and has one purple flwoered population in the south. Blooming takes place in late February to mid March. The pending flowers are adapted to prtect the delicate pollen from the rain.
