Description:
Mecopus tipularis
Body length male approx 8mm, female approx 7.3mm; the male has a pair of large spines on the underneath of the pronotum (called pectoral spines) and possesses hirsute fore tarsi; both sexes possess spines on the inner margin of the hind tibiae.
Australia: Queensland, Babinda, Oct 1950.
