Family: RubiaceaeDistribution: Peninsular India, Sri Lanka and Malayasia. Common in gregarious scrubs.1-2m tall shrubs. Leaves 8-12x3-5cm, elliptic oblong, acute, base truncate, glossy green, veins depressed; Flowers 6-8mm across, fragrant, white,3-chotomus corymbose terminal cymes ; bracteoles 2, calyx tube ovoid, with 5 lobes, corolla tube funnel shaped, lobes 5, spreading, twisted to left, stames 5 adnate to the mouth, filaments short, anthers linear, ovary 2 celled, style pubescent, stigma fusiform, grooved; berries 4-6mm across, globose, black with a crown of calyx.Photographed at Eastern ghats of Nellore district.
