Description:
Blue-faced honey-eater, AKA Maria bird.a couple of years back, we rescued a blue-faced honey eater that was injured. we looked after it and fed it until it could be released. The children christened it Maria (weird - i know - maybe they'd had too much Sound of Music?). Ever since then the kids always call these birds Maria birds - and it kinda stuck with Paul and me too.
