Brake for Spiders on the Bear Swamp Trail
Description:
These big Orb-weavers construct huge webs between the trees. They're usually high above the forest floor, but the strands often obstruct the trail. You have to be careful to spot them and duck out of the way.I've developed a handy (no pun intended) technique of holding one arm out ahead as you walk so you don't run right into the web. No one wants a face full of spider web, and more importantly, you've ruined their day.Bear Swamp TrailSalt Springs Recreation AreaOcala National ForestOlympus OM-D E-M5 Mark IIM.40-150mm F4.0-5.6 RGolden Silk Orb-weaver (Nephila clavipes)
