2011-11-05 Lower Austria, district Mdling, Wienerwald - Speckherrnstein (560 msm Quadrant 7863/3).German name: SpechttintlingSynonyms: Agaricus picaceus, Coprinus picaceus (Index Fungorum - Species Fungorum) (and also, erroneously, Coprinopsis picaceus).Caps of this one dissolves when spores are mature: it is a process of autodigestion of lamellae in order to release the spores.Coprinopsis was split off from Coprinus as a consequence of molecular phylogenetic findings that it is no closer relative of Coprinus.See also distant relative Coprinus comatus.Other species - habitat of Coprinopsis picacea:Acer pseudoplatanus, Carpinus betulus, Fraxinus excelsior, Acer platanoides (leaves of trees); Cyclamen purpurascens (leaves of herbaceous plants).
