Description:
Sarcocornia utahensis (syn. Salicornia utahensis) turns brown or gray as above in the fall (at least in our area). This species occupies an ecological zone that is close to the shoreline on salty beaches.Nov 30, 2013, northwestern edge of Salt Lake County, Utah, approx. 4,218 ft. elev.
