After my dragonfly program, I decided to explore a little bit behind this historic place. This is the homestead of Ralph Mann. http://www.stoppingpoints.com/texas/sights.cgi?marker=Ralph+Mann+Homestead&cnty=tarrant Would love some help with this bird... It has the beak of a cardinal but was quite uniform in color... A female bunting of some sort, perhaps?
