Washed up, these had been living on a piece of wood, a pole, that had small rope wrapped around it in the form of a net.

On the bouy with the strange barnacles. http://naturewatch.org.nz/observations/4376175 for a fresh one when the bouy was found out on the Tohe.

Here is another one @nzshells that fell off the bouy today when I moved it to check to see what else was on it. Seeing as it has the stalk I thought I would put this up.

Washed up on Muriwai Beach. The cuttlebone is 17cm long, and the largest barnacle heads are 22mm long.
