I am reporting this observation today after just posting one yesterday. They must now be all over New Plymouth. This morning I got a call to a private garden by the owners who has some unusual bees flying around. I saw about 15 or so Wool Carder bees and was lucky to get shots of a female and a male. Have attached photos of both. They were homing in on flowering basil plants.
