When first seen the turtle was crossing the road and about to get run over. The animal never would open up to show head or legs, so we put him into the wood and went on.

Active and alert, crossing the road. Looked healthy. Crossing from a wooded area to a grassy area.

I was very surprised to see this Box Turtle. I spend a lot of time looking for Damselflies along this string of three ponds and I've never seen one there before.
