This gal (green eyes instead of red eyes) was crossing a major highway. I was able to get stopped and get the the turtle off the road and into a safer area after a few photos.

Found this box turtle carapace off the boardwalk near Lonesome Lock south of Boston. Two weeks later I found a live box turtle an eighth of a mile north (photo posted earlier)

Shell has pentagon shapes grey with golden color. Red eyes.
