Poekilocerus bufonius is a unique, poisonous desert grasshopper. It has a yellow dotted black colour that allerts other animals not to deal with it. This insect eats foliage of poisonous plants like Calotropis procera (apple of Sodom). Here you can see a mating couple on a bark of Callotropis procera.

This is a young Poekilocerus bufonius grasshopper, typical to the extreme desert. One of the only insects that can feed on Apocynaceae poisonous plants.

Pontia glauconome is a common desert butterfly, the caterpillars are feeding on plants of the Resedaceae and Brassicaceae familes. I found this one on a cold afternoon, so it did not fly.
