Ailanthus Webworm Moth (Atteva aurea) was seen during the July 26th, Magnificent Moths program at Gorman Nature Center. The moths were attracted to the mothing sheets with black lights.

I was unable to identify this insect but I would describe it as a black and red long-bodied insect.

At lunch today, I explored this little dried up pond and the dried up creek that would feed it... Spent LOTS of time by a Baccharis to watch pollinators too. Great fun. :)

A very bright colored insect

What an exciting night... As you can see from the blurriness of all of these pictures, I was so excited to iNat with some fellow naturalists -- I couldn't even hold my camera steady! :) It really was an awesome time. Pretty much all of these have been observed by someone else in the same spot and time, but several of them are new for me... I'll work on the ID's for these organisms later on -- mostly by browsing the others that observed them! :) Yippee!
