Saw this beaut Giant Dragonfly at Otari Wilton's Bush on the lower track down by the stream heading towards the Cemetery. Wingspan would have been about 160mm across. Loved the transparency of the wings against the old Ponga fronds which symbolise our Native bush so nicely.

Live but docile specimen allowed closeups. This specimen about 75mm long. Had privilege earlier in day seeing another female laying eggs in muddy seepage.
