Yucatan casque-headed tree frog (Tiprion petasatus)Uxmal, Yucatan, MexicoI found this frog at around 6:00 pm. It was already dark. It was located in the wall, outside of its little hiding spot, right next to a banana tree. It's the first time I've ever seen one of this in real life, but I did know they usually hang around banana trees :)
A huge number of tree frogs live in and around this small pond. The adults are usually found in surrounding trees, bushes, etc., but once in a while you can find one in the pond. The pond usually has a lot tadpoles of this species in the spring and summer.
