Elizabeth and I went to this really awesome park, Oakmont Park, this evening -- there's a cool limestone hill with some really neat plants. :)

"Cross Spider (Neoscona crucifera) 2 October 2015: Walked about on the Haller's Haven Nature Trail and encountered this large spider busily weaving its web in broad daylight from one side of the trail to the other. When it noticed us watching it quickly ran along its web to try and hide underneath some leaves which is what's represented in these two images. We acknowledge and thank Prof. Chad Heins's assistance at BugGuide in making the IDentification of this spider. You can access said ID here: http://bugguide.net/node/view/1149438 Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge is administered by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, US Department of the Interior.
