Observed dragging a paralyzed immature Aphonopelma sp. through disturbed oak woodland/chaparral (heavy non-native Bromus sp. cover) at 18:29. A lot of P. mildei observed the general area. No other Pepsis sp. observed.
Tarantula hawk, probably a male pepsis mildei on on Asclepias fascicularis (Narrow-leaved Milkweed). Giant wasps with metallic blue bodies, amber wings and neon orange antennae -- you can't make this creature up!
Joined Sam, Rachel and Kim to do a little survey of this cool wetland area at request of the HOA. Hopefully they can convince the city to keep it natural.
