These were coupled in a mating wheel along a path I was hiking and flew away (still coupled) before I approached. I managed to spot where they landed and snuck up very slowly with telephoto to capture.

Guessing. Don't have my field guides with me. Corrections welcome. Tail doesn't look right but I'm going with Eastern Ringtail.

This is a very large dragonfly. She appeared to be laying eggs. She put her tail down into the leaf litter, remained for several seconds then moved on and repeated the process. It rained heavily the day before so the ground was no doubt wet. She was doing this only about 20 feet from a pond.
