11 mm. A new order for my yard at the buglight. And, assuming I have the ID right (posted to BugGuide), this is a (typically) outdoor species introduced from Europe, first reported in 1948. Despite the name, it has a northern distribution in North America: itâs well established in Massachusetts, with scattered reports from nearby states & provinces and as far west as Michigan, but this is the southernmost record on BugGuide. There is 1 previous NJ report, indoors last year in a office storage facility in N Arlington last year (bugguide.net/node/view/980506), & 1 report from last year from Queens, NY (bugguide.net/node/view/1008866). Yard has suburban trees & shrubs, a small patch of wildflower meadow, lots of English ivy ground cover, 1 small leaf mulch pile. If anybody is interested in a specimen, I could try putting the buglight out again.
