Aristolochia paecilantha is a rather rare plant of northern Israel, it s range continues northwards to up to S Turkey. I have posted pictures of this species in the past, but only this year I managed to get a good one. We found it common in the shade of the famous Mas'ade oak forest in the northern Golan Heights, 1100m.

Aristolochia parvifolia is a small tuberous Mediterranean plant. We found loads of them in the slopes of Mt Hermon 1200-1400m. Many plants were not blooming, few had flowers and few had globose fruits.

This is a rare birthwort growing from northern Israel to southern Turkey. It was found in Israel recently, growing ni the Golan Heights and Mt Hermon. This one was taken at 1650 m. below rocks in an open oak forest.

Its never boring in Mt Hermon, even now there are still many flowers and especially fruits of interesting species like this Aristolochia scabridula.

a nice species occuring normally in semi-shaded places. The locality of this specimen is intersting and new - Mt Hermon, 1800m. The species was not known from this area till today.
