Bird was 150 meters away. It dwarfed a Herring Gull that landed next to it at one point.

This bird looked so much like a Western Gull from San Francisco that I had to take a picture! So similar: close it size and the beak was yellow and there was a red dot on it. The real difference I spotted was the feathers on the wings - it was uniformly charcoal and even connected over the back.
