Gray Flycatcher Empidonax wrightii Madera Canyon Davis Mountains Preserve (TNC) Jeff Davis Co., Texas 16 June 2005 Gray Flycatchers were first discovered singing on territory in Texas in 1990. In 1991, I co-authored a paper published in the Bulletin of the Texas Ornithological Society documenting the first nesting of this species in Texas. Between 1991 and 2005 I made many visits to this area with other researchers documenting this species in Texas. Some years we found as many as 30 nesting territories in this area.
