Noticed bird flaring out to come to a perch in hardwood. Stopped and got camera out, it did not flush which surprised me. At 4.6km area of Frater Road. Had previously viewed one in this immediate area on my last trip. Perched on branch over creek which runs along south side of roadway. Sunny +10C

Returning from exploring east of the park. As I approached curve at the end of Frater Lake, noticed BWHA perched in tree. I had to take photos. Might compare colouring with individual viewed earlier in the day. Sunny 10C

Stopped near pond to listen for frogs but heard a BWHA vocalizing from near by. Got out with camera and slowly approached the call in the bush. Located and photographed southeast of pond.
-
Driving northward, noticed BWHA soaring over Hwy area. Stopped to get documenting photo. Sunny at its height, shady along the highway.
-
Much higher than the one I had just photographed down the Hwy. Soaring near corridor. No mistaking the shape.

I startled a fledgling from an overhead branch and then saw an adult broad-winged. There was another fledgling perched by a large nest. The photo gives the chronology of the Broad-wings near six mile. Details entered at e-bird

encounter between broad-winged hawks (2) and a red-tailed hawk. I did not see the broad-wings again in 2015. But there was a large forest fire on Duhammel and Sitka drainages so I was not looking up there.
