Specimen ca. 100mm long, went through the following URL, nothing close. http://naturewatch.org.nz/observations?place_id=6803&view=species&iconic_taxa=Mollusca Looks to me like a small conch, found about 500m east of the shore, on top of a fairly recently created dune, ref. the 3rd photo.
