Found buried in the sand at Sheep Pen harbor and dug up using shovel. Shell was included in voucher sample since it was difficult to extract the crab from it without completely destroying the specimen.

Another exciting find at Strawberry Hill, there were three of these small blackeyed hermit crabs running around the newly exposed realestate. Note - that is a child's hand! This species is usually found in Moon Snail shells, I am assuming in the subtidal areas as I have never seen one before.

I've only seen this species on the sand flats, near olive snails and sand dollars.
