First recorded in the Iberian peninsula in 1980 an 1991, still uncommon here. Also a larval specimen was found and subsequently identified in Spain in 1966Sotogrande Beach, Cadiz Province, Andalucia Spain
During the week we were privileged to see this dragonfly. The colour on its abdomen was so brilliant. Fortunately it continued to return to a perching stick, allowing us to take many photos. Austrothemis nigrescens
