this one was in the same area as the other two observations on this date but on a lower branch between the others; all were sitting on these fallen branches from a tree, basking beside the temporary pond, which has lasted for many weeks now due to the frequent spring rains. The pond has many cricket frogs.
Sitting on a log in the wetlands. Quite large and my guess is 5-6 feet if stretched out. Just cropped another picture and now I think it is two snakes intertwined making them probably 3 feet I'm guessing. Do snakes do that? Is that a mating thing? Family?
