Tandy Hills also had the star-gazing party with some moth-ing on the side. I put up the light and taught some folks about how cool moths are. It was fun to see lots of little kiddos come to the moth light too. :) I'll work on these ID's later...
This observation is for the insect in the middle. This moth is a very vivid patterned green and brown moth. It is a busy moth that looks like it has doilies of wings on the bottom. I have one of these posted for the Fort Worth Zoo education department. However this was actually the first encounter for the insect before that one. This guy is a smaller moth but still a pretty good size. These other insects are pretty good for size comparison. This photo will be posted another two times to go over the other two. The Laudable Arches is kind of bullet shaped with a rounded head and rounded wings. It has waves and other beautiful patterns. It is one of the prettiest moths I have seen that is on my life list.
