We saw this frog at about 11:00pm in a caliche tank (~30 ft diameter) surrounded by sotol inhabited hillside. An explosive breeding event was occurring due to 2 inches of rain the night before. One R. sphenocephala individual could be heard calling amongst a chorus of B. nebulifer, G. olivacea, B. punctatus and H. versicolor (with separate iNat observations). We saw 6 R. sphenocephala individuals at this tank, with similar sightings at nearby tanks (~.5 mile away). It was about 75° with ~10 mph wind.
