We gathered with around 25 other iNatters for the Big Thicket BioBlitz -- it was the best time ever to explore with fellow naturalists. On this night, we had several stations of night lights to attract moths and nocturnal critters.

attracted to white sheet with a light at night. Shot taken early in the morning while still mostly dark. The greenish cast on some images an artifact of the light used to attract the insects.

Pretty cool!! Not many like this around up here. I think it's either Dasychira basiflava or D. Obliquata. About 3 cm long, lovely banded legs. Coming into black light, took these photos the next morning. Vertical black lines suggest obliquata, but dark PM line makes me think basiflava. Edge of mixed forest. Thanks for any help!!
