Coming into black light, edge of forest. White reniform spot, no orange or yellow on abdomen, black-and-white dashed pattern along fringe. Wings measured 6 cm across. Lovely spinx. Pretty sure of ID but thanks for any help.

A recently emerged moth, unfortunately pestered too much by the local children to fully spread its wings.

Waved Sphinx Moth (Ceratomia undulosa) was seen July 31st at Gorman Nature Center. This was the morning after an impromptu mothing program w/ Brad Von Blon following GNC's Night Sky program. This moth was found outside the GNC front door the morning following the mothing event.
