07-20-14_MG_8223 This is a most interesting species of Robber flies and I have seen them with bees and paper wasps the paper wasps are almost the exact same size, Today I seen many hundreds of these and would venture a guess the numbers are in the thousands but only found two that perched nice for photos out of the hundred plus I seen.

One of my favorite robber flies. We don't see them every year, but several were found recently by ericisley and they are hanging around an area we used to have them a few years back.
