Three stargazing darters captured via mini Missouri Trawl. First positive ID on stargazing darters in the Saline River in nearly two decades. Confirmed not extirpated, but catch rate extremely low. Of the 329 fish sampled at this site, only 3 were Stargazing Darters.

Found in Walnut Creek near Crystalbrook Dr., Austin, TX. Temperatures were in the low 60s and weather was sunny. This fish was caught in my surber sampler as I was trying to capture macroinvertebrates.
