On this place there is this year an untypically huge population, it is possible that it was sown on purpose by people using it as drug.German name: Gewhnlich-Stechapfel.ID: Fischer, Exkursionsflora 3rd

2013-01-13 Vienna XXII. district, Aspern - FlugfeldOn the site of Aspern Seestadt project, thousands upon thousands of Datura stramonium dominate the raw gravel wastelands of the building site: while this plant usually isn't so very common here (it is a newcomer, native of America, but long since established here) it seems to thrive here on this place: growing on 'pure' gravel with no humus soil cover worth mentioning.

2009.10.08: Austria, Vienna XI. district, 157 m AMSL, brownlands: ripe fruit. This year I found a surprising number of Datura stramonium in and around Vienna: so probably a natural occurence (species might spread as a consequence of climate change?).German name: Gewhnlich-Stechapfel.
