Description: I photographed this species last year at Juno Dunes but this one lives at Frenchman's Forest Natural Area in Palm Beach County, Florida. The flowers are tiny. This little plant is listed in various references in 3 different families. Taxonomists are subtle and mysterious. It was originally in the Capparaceae but upon modern DNA study it, and a few other genera, were elevated to their own distinct family, the Cleomaceae. Some references place it in the Brassicaceae. I don't think it cares which -aceae they put it in as long as it has bright sunshine, rainwater and a few minerals to eat :). Date: 26 July 2012, 08:45.
