This Curlew was so camouflaged I couldn't even see it with my naked eye,I had to find it with my binoculars,even though it was close and making a very loud call. There were 2 of them here,so I suspect they had a nest nearby,or soon will.
Adult from Madha, Oman.The larger of two sympatric Asaccus, this species was common on rocky walls at night. When we collected it, it was known as Asaccus caudivolvulus, but Carranza et al. (2016) described these as a new species, A. margaritae.
