First noticed through window (see 1st photo below) when prey, Southern Flannel Moth, Megalopyge opercularis (that had been on the window for several hours), was already dead. After ~1/2 hour Fire Ants were attracted and there ensued a tug-of-war: the Soldier Bug dragging the prey up the window as the Fire Ants tugged on the moth's antennae and other parts from below. The Soldier Bug won, but it was closely fought battle.

To prep for the trip to see fellow iNaters in Dripping Springs, I spent some time with the moth light this night... I'll spend a lot more time ID'ing these later on...

This soldier bug had attacked an Aon Moth and was carrying it away when I photographed it.
