This species is common in lowland areas of this region. We saw 20 or more on our outing.

A favorite bird - still not a great photograph. I love how the bleat like goats!

gcwarbler and I were looking through a juniper and pinyon pine area on the edge of Corona, New Mexico about 30 minutes before dusk. It was very foggy and viewing conditions were pretty bad. I bumped the ISO up to 3200 on my camera just to be able to get an image. We started hearing Pinyon Jays and located a flock of about 30 birds. I am posting several shots, all of them grainy and marginal, but the best I could do with the conditions at the time. This is a species I've always wanted to get nice shots of, but so far that goal has eluded me.

Saw nearly 100 of these beautiful birds at the Inn der Bach. Most were in the shade. This was the best picture I could get before they took flight.
