"Immense snapping turtle crossed my path on a warm,70's degrees F., day. A cooperative subject, we each kept an eye on the other for more than 15 mins. During this time , the sun dried the ~ 15""- 17"" carapace. Having satisfied our mutual curiosity and having had enough of being photographed and observed, we moved on."

"Large, 12""-15"" carapace, probably female snapping turtle crossed my path in the early evening. Very self-possessed and deliberate, this individual tolerated my interruption without making any defensive behavior, then went purposefully on its way. Got a couple of good shots of the ""eyes full of stars""!"
