A large dark mosquito was found at my home on the south side of Corpus Christi, Texas. I tried to catch it with a plastic box and it was faster and larger than other mosquitoes that I have seen. Once I caught it, I cooled it a bit to take photographs. Once it warmed up, it started to move again (see the different positions in the photos; scale in mm). Its body was a little larger than 10 mm. I have seen mosquitoes with skinny but longer legs but this one had quite a large body. Any help with ID will be appreciated.
