"This is a juvenile frogfish - you can tell by the banding in the body. Frogfish use their swim bladders to do something remarkable - they can make sounds or ""sing"" to attract mates. They can also swallow large prey thanks to their expandable stomachs."
An Oyster Toadfish in the channel connecting Potter and Pt. Judith Ponds. It was using a cavity under a piece of wood. Found it the day before, but didn't have my camera, thankfully it was still there today (perhaps a male guarding a nest). I hear them often, but this was the first I actually found.
