This Picture Wing Fly has a bullseye type pattern on its wings. Found a great visual match on BugGuide, but will submit for verification. Observed this one by my deck light in the morning. www.bugguide.net/node/view/874558

Several of these ant-sized flies were on a Texas Thistle plant covered with aphids. They kept rowing their wings around. Possibly Euxesta notata? These were the closest I could find. Any help with ID is most appreciated!

Scrutinizing the bush lupines turned up this little guy (or gal) again. I strongly suspect some kind of association, though I didn't really scrutinize other bushes as much.
