Description: Austroboletus (Corner) Wolfe Image location: State Forest Reserve, near Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia These images were taken in an area that is little known about. It is a small protected heritage (Cedat Tree) forest that the local ranger told me about. This is the first time I have seen these fungi and believe them to be mirabilis. [admin – Sat Aug 14 02:01:47 +0000 2010]: Changed location name from ‘Kempsey State forest Reserve’ to ‘State Forest Reserve, near Kempsey, New South Wales, Australia’ Recognized by sight: Dr. Roy Halling did, at least, saying that Austroboletus was a strong possiblity. He also stated that there are at least seven species within this genus in Australia, and it is impossible to ID to species without more details. Please collect it next time, Ian! I am trying to find you a local key…
