Haliclona (Reniera) debilis Pulitzer-Finali 1993

Short tubes arising from a thick irregular branching base, 0.5 cm wide, 1 cm high, whole sponge 10 cm diameter. Often nestled loosely amongst Halimeda plants. Oscules apical with a rim of tiny, soft spikes. Body squishy and limp out of water. Colour bright pinkish-purple. Habitat: upper eulittoral muddy sand flats adjacent to mangroves. Distribution: SE Asia (Richmond, 1997).
