this is one of the tiny ferns. In Israel it is very rare occuring in a few spots along the coastal plain. You can see them in November-December, after that the grass will cover all.

Ophioglossum polyphyllum is a tiny desert fern. In Israel it is endangered, known from only 2 site. It grows in extreme desert and sprouts only in rainy years. We were lucky this year to see it for a month or so. Here u can see the spore stalk just after dispercal.

Salvinia natans is a tropical water fern. In Israel it is rare and sporadic. The leaves have special hairs on the upper surface, these hairs prevent water to accumulate on the leaf, thus enabling it to float.
